This is an ugly one. A case of domestic violence appears to have resulted in the death of a mother by her son.
A 41-year old woman from Mississauga, Ont., was rushed to the hospital after police responded to a domestic assault call. Unfortunately, the woman died in the hospital due to the injuries sustained. Her 20-year old son, Kunal Bhavan, has been charged with second-degree murder. He was arrested at the scene.
Bhavan was to attend court in Brampton late last week to respond to the charge. The maximum penalty for second-degree murder is life in prison.
Break and entry into Saskatchewan post office after 50 years
You may think the absolute worst place to rob is a post office but these thieves thought differently.
A small post office in Saskatchewan was broken into last week. The robber(s) stole all the packages. It appears that they opened them and discarded the unwanted ones along the highway. Christmas in October, you might say.
Additionally, they couldn’t open the safe, so they dumped it into the Lake of Prairies on the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border. Now this is just pathetic.
The last time this post office was broken into was 50 years ago.
Now the post office has to check its inventory and track what mail has gone missing.
Is it odd that we still have post offices in this electronic age or is weird that some choose to rob a post office? You decide.
